Recognition achieved for lining materials
Versiv Composites recently achieved IATF 16949:2016 status for its quality management system in relation the manufacture of composite-based low friction liners.
The technical specification provides for continual improvement, emphasising defect prevention and the reduction of variation and waste in automotive industry supply chain and assembly process.
The standard was prepared by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) and the "Technical Committee" of ISO. It harmonises the country-specific regulations of quality management systems.
Low friction linings quality subject to several audits
Versiv went through several audits last year on the way to receiving certification. IATF certification de-risks products from a quality perspective and reassures customer requirements around high quality of components and systems.
Versiv low friction linings are used the automotive industry for applications such as brake systems, double clutches, other transmission systems, and roof blind sliding systems to reduce wear and hysteresis to improve performance. Low friction linings are also used in bearings, gears, and other mechanical components to reduce friction and improve efficiency in industrial machinery and as bearing type material to optimise movement in printers.
The IATF awarded the certification on the 2nd of August 2023.
