Precision Adhesives:
Engineered Solutions for Diverse Applications

High-performance adhesive fabric tape plays an influential role in optimising manufacturing processes worldwide. These materials are used across multiple sectors, from wind energy and packaging and electronics.

Versiv Composites offers a range of adhesive tape solutions. Let's explore some of the products being used and applications that benefit.

CLPSA 4 S: Precision in Turbine Blade Manufacturing

The wind energy sector demands materials that can withstand extreme conditions while providing excellent release properties. CLPSA 4 S is used as release fabric during the blade molding process. Its non-porous and non-stick properties allow for easy separation of the blade from the mold, ensuring a smooth surface finish.

A flexible, non-porous laminated composite that combines multi-layer fluoropolymer cast films with fiberglass-reinforced fabrics, its excellent release properties and mechanical strength make CL4 ideal for use as a release liner in wind turbine blade manufacturing.

Wind turbine blades account for approximately 20% of the total turbine cost, which can range from $2.5 million to $4 million. Given this significant investment, any material or process, such as the usage of CL4 in composite molding, that can improve efficiency and reduce costs, is valuable.

CS206-S: uPVC Welding

CS206 S is a specialised PTFE-coated fabric with a high-performance silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive, designed to enhance uPVC welding processes. Its non-stick PTFE coating prevents molten uPVC from adhering to welding equipment, ensuring clean and efficient welds. The product's high temperature resistance allows it to withstand the heat generated during uPVC welding without degrading.

The silicone tape adhesive backing enables easy application and removal from welding surfaces, while the yellow corrugated liner aids in quick identification and handling. With its combination of PTFE's release properties and the durable fabric backing, CS206 S helps improve weld quality, reduce equipment maintenance and increase overall productivity in uPVC welding operations.

CS205-S: Packaging Industry

CS205-S is a PTFE-coated fabric tape with a high-performance silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive, offering excellent release properties and heat resistance. It has a temperature resistance range of -73°C to +260°C.  Its non-stick properties prevent packaging materials from adhering to heated surfaces, making it ideal for heat sealing applications.

The inherent chemical resistance of PTFE also protects against damage from different packaging materials, making CS205 S an asset for improving sealing quality and reducing maintenance in packaging processes.
