  • Versiv PTFE diagraphm: Ultraflex

Used in the most demanding high-pressure applications, Versiv Ultraflex is an unmatched PTFE solution for the highest flex life requirements and permeation resistance.
Ultraflex is a Versiv Multimaterial Composite made from premium high molecular weight fluoropolymer resins, via specialised surface treatments and our proprietary process. It has all the benefits of regular PTFE composites, plus enhanced flex resistance, especially for high-pressure requirements.
    Roll of Versiv Ultraflex

Main benefits of Versiv Ultraflex for pump diaphragms:

    High chemical resistance:

PTFE composites highly resistant to chemicals, acids, and solvents. This makes them ideal for use in pumps that handle aggressive chemicals or corrosive materials.
It is also resistant to hydrolysis, making it suitable for use in humid environments.

    High-temperature resistance:

Versiv Ultraflex is non-flammable/ fire resistan and has excellent high-temperature resistance. It is thermally stable from -200°C to 260°C (-328°F to 500°F) without degradation, making it suitable for use in pumps that handle hot fluids.

    Flexibility and Durability:

Versiv Ultraflex is thermally weldable and has superior flexibility, allowing for diaphragms that are thin and durable. It is also resistant to tearing and abrasion, which helps prolong their lifespan.

    Reduced permeation:

Reducing permeation is about equipment reliability.
Versiv Ultraflex allows for both the protection of equipment and environment, and the reduction of leakage and media loss.

    Smoother flow:

PTFE materials have a very low coefficient of friction, which means they do not stick to other materials easily.
This leads to time, materials and energy savings through the low friction & easy release properties. It also makes them ideal for use in pumps that handle viscous or sticky fluids.

  • PTFE sheets prevent sticking during foam production

Versiv PTFE Belts are used in the transport of polymeric materials in the production of foam products.

Versiv PTFE coated fabrics are used as excellent process aids for the production of different foam products. They allow the transport over a wide temperature range and avoid sticking tendencies of the soft polymeric materials, while being in the expansion process.

Post-curing on the belt is simplified, with no risk of interference between the belt and the final product. The final curing process can continuously operate at temperatures up to 260°C (500°F) and can briefly reach up to 300°C (572°F) to ensure an excellent final product.

Pump problems solved with Versiv Ultraflex:

    • Premature failure due to PTFE rupture has been solved by the exceptional flex-life performance.
    • Diaphragm delamination caused by bad etching, unsteady bonding quality to rubber and media permeation that destroys bonding/rubber has been overcome by higher quality sodium ammonia etching on a Flex Barrier constructed from a low permeation rate laminate with a barrier enhancement process. The result is excellent bonding with a significantly reduced stretch void index and a 30% reduction in permeation.
    • Contamination attributable to a diaphragm’s rough surface hasbeen eliminated by the smooth inert surface of the barrier.
    • For deep drawing manufacturing issues, where the problem’s root cause is stiff and heterogeneous material, the high quality and flexibility of these barrier films removes cause for concern.
