The role of the Process Engineer is to promote and facilitate the improvement of production processes towards the achievement of the best quality and performance standards within Versiv. This involves focused problem solving using a Lean manufacturing approach and networking with group experts in the areas of mixing and forming, drying, quality and operations.

Scope:

  • The successful candidate will possess a high level of initiative, ability to handle multiple responsibilities and have a result driven approach to ensure successful completion of assigned projects.
  • Projects will be designed to assist the plant in achieving the business goals and objectives as they relate to productivity, quality and service.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and pro-actively in a dynamic team environment, with a flexible and confident problem-solving approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and apply principles of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Implement suitable product and process changes to satisfy customer specific requirements and that of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Perform root-cause analysis with process and test data to implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Understand risk management and the process based approach to quality and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Respond to manufacturing problems in a timely manner to maintain and support production.
  • Support and coordinate the implementation of capital investment programs.
  • Ensure site compliance with customer requirements as well as IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Provide technical support to Customer Service, Sales and Quality Assurance.
  • Support the implementation and upgrade of “Manufacturing 4.0” into the facility.
  • Other reasonable duties as required by the Company.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A degree in Engineering / Science related discipline.
  • Ideally 3+ years’ experience in a high volume manufacturing environment.
  • High level of PC skills (e.g. MS Package, Minitab / JMP etc).
  • Knowledge of pFMEA, 8D, DMAIC and Kaizen processes is desirable.
  • Lean manufacturing / Six Sigma / statistical analysis experience (Six Sigma Green Belt a plus).
  • Self motivated, able to make independent decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with IATF core tools are desirable.
  • Strong organizational and follow up skills as well as attention to detail.
